The first arc was pretty generic shounen shit, though not entirely bad. The arc after that had some pretty cool fight scenes even though the supporting cast barely puts up a fight against the soul reavers. That aside, the show's attempt at drama is pretty laughable and the retarded TWEEST at the end of the 2end arc sent it down into a downward spiral of shit. At that point, the fights can be summed up as *character teleports behind foe, foe looks shocked, and then they get utterly destroyed.*

did not finish. Watched through episode 229. I loved it at first but the story gradually lost my interest. Unlike a lot I did enjoy some of the "filler" story.

Only that first arc is really worth it (that first 60ish episode), the rest is not.

Meh, never really was a fan of this one even back then. The few decent arcs at the beginning were already done far better in other anime i.e Yu Yu Hakusho, and the rest was pointlessly drawn out as they recycled the same storylines over and over again. Only a handful of the characters were likable and had any depth. On the other hand the art, animation and soundtrack were pretty good though.

Only liked up to the point where they saved Rukia, forget the rest

Take an interesting premise, do little with it, and just try to shock and surprise with bland fights and forced twists... and you have Bleach. One of those shows where I started out enthusiastic and ended up bored to tears.

It's absolute shit, but it's absolute shit I'll always have some nostalgic affection for.
