Not so penetrative but a treat nonetheless to see the casual side of such idolized figures. Loved the scene where he's pulling weapons out from every corner of his insane YMCA bunker.

A humanizing portrait of a writer who is often portrayed as a cold and alien figure. There's a lot of footage of Burroughs doing his "routines" and playing "Burroughs," but there are also many glimpses of the person and relationships behind the public persona. Great to see him interacting with people like his troubled son, Allen Ginsberg and Francis Bacon (!). Some attention is paid to his work and ideas, but this is more an introduction to the man behind them.
