Camelot

Camelot was Starz' attempt to fill the same void as HBO's Game of Thrones, unfortunately debuting at the same time. Camelot isn't bad, it was just paced too slowly and treaded familiar ground. That said, I enjoyed Fiennes' portrayal of Merlin, and Forlani and Green elevated the scenes they were in. The younger cast however were less than stellar, and the way their characters are written doesn't help. The show is well shot though.

I'm not really sure why this TV show is on Criticker, but whatever, I watched it so I'll score it. It's pretty poor. It really, really didn't help that Game of Thrones season 1 aired simultaneously and thoroughly schooled it top to bottom in the exact same subgenre. The season-climactic "war" sequence appeared to be about twenty dudes fighting twenty other dudes, which, considering the show's $70 million budget, is pretty fucking inexcusable.
