Cassandra

A story about bad husbands, bad fathers, racism and homophobia, combined with automation and robots (but concocted so as to avoid any questions about networks). It has its moments, but it also seems clear that the story was put together in a sloppy way, so that there are just too many things that do not make logical or narrative sense. Filmed strictly according to standard fashion, which necessarily includes a lot of teal.

what holds back this series from achieving greatness is the present timeline of the story (yea, there are two timelines narrated in parallel). while the past timeline delivers some absolute cinema, the latter falls flat. Lavinia Wilson as Cassandra rules. and it was even more eerie to see how horst looked more and more like Sebastian Stan in each frame.

Cassandra begins with a very interesting concept: artificial intelligence seamlessly integrated into daily life and how that relationship starts to take a dark turn. At first, everything works well. There's tension, the premise is engaging, and it seems like the series is building up to a gripping tech thriller. Atmosphere: Perfect. Design: Perfect. Execution: really good, but it is not amazing. It was a bit exaggerated even in its own world but never a boring watch. It’s good to see prodcutions like this from Europe.
