Deadloch

Hahaha I can imagine the reviews from some males. Look, this series is bizarre. Its female oriented, with all three primary investigators as female. But its also very crude. I imagine that was off putting for many. But if I am going to be honest, I am a sucker for the atmospheric. Where little towns play their own character , and you feel like an outsider. The mystery of this series, at times seems to be dragged out longer than it needs to be, but it definitely gets better as it goes.

Bumped to 90 for season 2. This show does what it does incredibly. The writing is extraordinary, and accomplishes a nuance of character while riding/writing a line between drama and comedy I don't think I've ever seen done before. Between all the chaos, the writers constantly pull together insightful through-lines.

This show was hilarious. The writing was amazing, the twists were great, and the main duo have some great growth. I enjoyed how the relationships weren’t black and white, and even the side characters have good story archs. Sometimes the music made the stakes seem a lot higher than they were, but it gave it charm.

Bad acting, terrible writing, lame comedy

I was already in love with this when I realized this was written by YouTube's The Kates, but fuck I had no idea they could write like this. A hilarious send-up of opposite detectives (with ACAB elements), where the 'Straight Man' is a lesbian and the loose cannon is the unhinged Madeline Sami, who is even more unhinged than Taskmaster NZ. But this isn't just exquisite commentary on True Detective - the mystery itself reveals layers of social commentary & jokes.

Entertaining enough, but 8 hours is way too much for the story it's telling.

I enjoyed this dark comedy murder mystery set in a small Tasmanian town full of lesbians, including it's fun social commentary.

Moronesque!
