Devicanska Svirka

An eerie little film but off acting that helped the film more than it hindered it.

This was as a bonus in Severin's folk horror boxset. It's from the director of "Leptirica", and surprisingly looked like a more polished production; it has classy B/W cinematography, captivating setting and effective soundscape. The first half holds its own against 60/70's Italian gothics. The cast is small, but Olivera Katarina made an impression as the maiden. The storyline is ultimately too thin and they struggle to sustain the 60min runtime, but the inevitable and grim ending is effective.
