For All Mankind

Starts off with space travel but quickly veers of into be more of a regular drama show after a couple of episodes. The space part is still there but it feels more of a setting instead of the main focus. Sure it adds a bit extra but could might as well have been a tv show under the sea. FAM suffers from this in s1 as its drama is not interesting enough and neither the story, however s2 remedies this. Sure it's still flawed but a lot more entertaining. Am I excited for S3? No. Will I watch it. Y

Had a lot of potential. The 1st season was the best, but the writing is weak. Weaker than weak, really. Instead of inventive writing to get the characters in jeopardy, they have supposedly smart people betray themselves and make awesomely stupid choices. The character of Margo was the worst of these, although she is barely alone.

I gave this five episodes. I thought FAM might be a what-if science procedural, but it's more of a heroes melodrama that wants to do self-conscious, conspicuous rewriting of a less egalitarian past. The space race is exposition. I should be in their audience, but I found it tiring pretty quickly.

Feel like it's a good show to give up after Season 1 where the quality and interest and balance of sci fi and drama are all spot on and they never quite get there again.

Solid. Each season feels pretty different, but not in a bad way. I liked most of the characters.

This show is often goofy, but the production quality is really good. The alternate history jokes in the season opening fake headlines are good.

Amazing, last season the worst, first too the best

A great, realistically grounded (perhaps less-so politically and socially at various points) alternative history sci-fi series. Its soap opera inclinations may frustrate some viewers to some extent (especially in the second season) but it presents a utopian vision of an alternative USA and world that actually is quite depressing when you look at the world actual now. The characters are mostly well-written and well-acted. Ed Baldwin is the perfect flawed hero of his world story.

Good first season, couldn't watch second

At times great. At times super annoying. I hate the female lead. Theres a disconnect of them trying to salvage their character and im like no, fuck this character.
