James Dean

Poor James Franco hunching over to look like 5'7" James Dean.

Franco certainly has James Dean's mannerisms down, but he doesn't get inside the character. This is most likely because, as written, there is nothing to get inside. The script guarantees that the proceedings can never rise above the realm of typical, ultra-shallow TV-movie fare--though it's glossier than most. The '50's clothes, cars and production design all look great.

No other actor is more suitable for the role of James Dean than James Franco. He gave an amazing performance. 1-2

Very good, Franco does an excellent job.

Well done Franco. Convincing role I must say.

Its a TV film but a very good one. James Dean is a terrific and very interesting character/subject matter. Franco is pitch perfect.

Franco is phenomenal in this role that does a great job of showing who Dean was (to those of you who don't hero-worship him like me). Even better if you've seen his films, it's pulled off quite well.

Why is James Franco so misscast and in such shitty movies, he is such an amazing actor, as seen in this brilliant made for TV biopic. Great. just Great.
