It's impossible to rate this as a piece of "cinema." The directing is crude and utilitarian, and the lighting and photography gives it a very low-budget feel. So, this comes across like amateur theatre, but when the acting and especially the material-- this is really a masterpiece of adaptation, perfectly capturing the spirit of P.G. W.'s prose, w/ a shrewd balance of dialogue/plot left almost as is and some otherwise-- are this funny, you're doing pretty ok. V. re-watchable. CW tho': blackface.

Written by the legendary P.G. Wodehouse, so about as witty and gigabased as you'd expect. Pretty low budget, but they've got the important stuff like cars, trains, and large country houses. Music is great and meticulously scored to the action and beat of each scene. Fry and Laurie is the perfect casting. Living as English aristocracy in the 20's truly is the dream. but the series is classy enough to omit all the cocaine and orgies of real life. Proto-fascist storylines go hard. OG Big Lebowski.
