Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens remains one of all TV’s great marriages of actor and character, and Boyd Holbrook is a natural fit as a Justified villain. It’s hard though to find much this series is doing that you haven’t seen MANY serialized cable crime dramas doing before, competently executed here or no. Also a shame to do a reboot with only one returning character. And Olyphant’s daughter’s screen presence is painful.

I admire the attempt to update the show for the changing times. Solid commentary on race and police brutality, but this show has some huge problems, too. One of which is the focus on Raylan's daughter, played by Timothy Olyphant's real daughter. This is a nepotism hire plain and simple. Sorry, but she's awful, and I certainly don't envy the directors trying to coax a better performance out of her while her father, the star and executive producer of the show, is standing right beside them.

Fails to bring back the charm of the original series almost completely. The scene of Detroit (of which the portayal is so weak that it could have been any other city) doesn't fit the character Givens at all, his "collegues" are a bunch of one-dimensional tired cops, the main antagonist is just an inexplicably lucky manchild, Given's love interest implausible and lacks all chemistry, but most of all, the plot is so thin and lazy that it's almost impossble to be drawn in.
