Wheels Ontario 4ever!

Probably the most spot-on satire of reality television I've seen in recent times, and it not only refrains from taking an obvious moral higher ground above such smut, but approaches its object of satire with a passing level of affection and understanding of how pervasive reality television is in our culture. Criminally under-viewed stuff.

Exactly the type of meta-ironic self-reflexive dead end that David Foster Wallace warned us about (with Enter the Void/Spring Breakers-aping opening credits, no less). It wears out its welcome well before the end of the third season, but i almost want to say it's worth watching just for Oh, Hello.

Kroll has some of the best characters. The show is a little uneven, and it attempts to squeeze a little too much out of each character. But damn it's funny when it's working. It's also the absolute best parody of shitty reality tv.

This show is like the scrappy kid at school who wears hand-me-downs and never looks properly fed, but when you get to know him, he's so funny and interesting that you don't want to hang out with anyone else -- a weird metaphor considering Nick Kroll's father is literally a billionaire, but the point is that the show is very lacking in polish, and varies wildly in terms of quality and tone, but is totally worth it. Plus, Jenny Slate! Fucking Jenny Slate! She kills it with every appearance!
