Goofy as hell, but for a 45-minute '80s Halloween special aimed at families, this is... not bad. Not great, certainly, but there's some creative energy and charm here. John Astin elevates the whole project just by showing up.

This is a terrible TV movie with a crappy, lame script, horrible acting, and lazy effects.

I thought this was pretty cool when I was 11...a Disney produced horror flick about a haunted house seemed too good to be true. But in reality, this is a terrible movie with a really corny script, horrible acting and cheap looking effects. It gets a few points for nostalgia and for featuring a reasonably disgusting gooey faced monster, but that's it.
