Black and white (no pun intended) characterizations, stilted interactions, and a horribly templated "let's-move-this-plot-along" musical score--they all serve to construct a film so preeningly didactic that even if you agree with all of its moralizing, you will still feel compelled to cringe and roll your eyes. It's as awkward and fruitless as talking politics at the dinner table with your extended family.

A by the book film which doesn't really shed much light on the subject matter at hand, Ali's fight for freedom in the Supreme Court. A good performance by Christopher Plummer and Frank Langella needs to stop playing ornery, elitist pricks, he's becoming a caricature.
