surprisingly unpleasant

This is such a barebones show that there's barely anything to say about it. You're not really taught or shown anything about baking that would be useful or interesting and the contestants are all milquetoast and boring. The main source of "amusement" is mocking average people who can't create elaborate pastries in under 20 minutes which is the sort of condescending garbage that I really don't have any enthusiasm for.
