Simply Wonderful! An emotional coming of age story that tugs at all the right strings without being overbearing, accompanied by stylish animation and a superb soundtrack. Highly recommended!

It's much more epic than it sounds. Seriously.

Great portrait of coming of age and finding meaning and identity. I just wish they would have skipped the Harry Potter-style ending of "what happened to everyone in the end"

I like the story and I'm a big fan of the 2002 film but I really really was not a fan of the animation style and it took me a while to get into the anime because of that.

I love how seriously this takes competitive table tennis, how carefully crafted the characters are, Masaaki Yuasa's aesthetic, and that catchy tune
