Sometimes a little to precious for its own good, when it tries to shoot darts in your heart every other scene nudged by the music and visual atmospherics, but overall Rectify is a fantastically written show populated by many fleshed out and realistically motivated characters. Sean Bridgers has entered my hall of fame of favorite secondary actors.

season 1 & 2.

Season 1: 75 Season 2: 80 Season 3: 80, Season 4: 77

Any critique of the criminal justice system in The Deep South that isn't centered around poor or racialized people is futile at best and racist and classist at worst. Not to mention, that the show is painfully slow, with very little happening in a single episode. I forced myself to get through the entire first season, but it's very unlikely I'll ever be willing to continue, especially when there are dozens of better shows waiting in my Netflix list.

I just don't know what to make of this.
