It can be cheesy at time, and some characters/stories are a little irrational at times, but the overall story arc, character development, and strong values in the show make up for it. WAY better than the reboot.

As someone who devoured these 2000s teen shows, I still to this day have never seen better chemistry between a male & female lead as in Roswell. The casting was perfect. The show has a great concept. A bit cheesy on rewatches, but still great. I personally didn't care for the story arc in season 2, which is made all the more painful by the fact that there aren't 5 more seasons exploring the different directions the show could have taken. By the final episode, all I wanted was to keep watching.

Roswell is a bit of a mixed bag. In that the first and third seasons are very enjoyable. Where as the second season did not come as close to holding up. It begins with some great episodes and they only get better as the season goes on. Overall the show has the qualities of a cult classic and is well worth checking out.

Cannot really give this series an unbiased evaluation since this was my teenage obsession. And by obsession, I mean the clinical, unhealthy kind. Probably wouldn't hold up that well re-watched, but I'm not planning to.

I've tried three or four times to make it through the first season and I just can't do it. It starts off strong but crashes quickly. I liked several actors, their characters and even the main premise but this show was mishandled and the show runners never seemed to know what to do or where to go with the concept.
