While nowhere near as good as Bebop, Samurai Champloo retains some of its nicer qualities. A polished product with some impressive dubbing and music, it hits a mark, but a less interesting stories and characters who are cool, but not as cool as Spike, Jet, Faye, and Ed, make it a little more iffy. Still worth a watch.

Boredom combined with unexplained silliness. Poorly written characters. I can't understand the hype.

My favorite anime of all time. If anyone knows of any more anime like this one, please tell me. I really enjoyed this series.

Bit worse and bit better in some ways than bebop. I preferred this having an overarching story that was often more relevant. Both bebop and champloo end and make me miss them cuz by the end i'm so ready to see them go off a journey more like inuyasha instead of just one-offs. And two-offs and three-offs. And that one-off that seemed like it would be a two-off with the zombies but wasnt lol. And the end had the coolest fights and villains and martial arts. Wish it had more of that

It isn't Cowboy Bebop, which is about perfect in terms of anime, but it does occasionally come close. Incredibly stylish, with smooth animation and a memorable cast, it's the perfect length for what it is, and is certainly something that will stand the test of time and remain iconic, must-watch for anime fans.

The audiovisual aesthetics are unbelievably good.--maybe even better than Cowboy Bebop at times. Unfortunately, most episodes are just dull vignettes without a rhyme or reason. Maybe that's the point, maybe it's attempting to recreate the authenticity of folk tales, but it just makes for a very uninteresting viewing experience. So despite the jaw-dropping art and a perfectly complementary soundtrack, it's hard to recommend something that is all style, but very little substance.

One of the best anime series I've picked up, good for fans of Naruto and historical fiction.

People always talk up Cowboy Bebop, but I think SC is just as good. Could use some more character development from the big 3, but i think it checks every other box just fine.

Coming off of Bebop, I was a bit disappointed in Champloo. The music wasn't as varied and neither were the stories. It took me eight or so years to re-approach the series. Damn glad I did as it is a great series. Sure some episodes are forgettable, but when it hits, it hits just as well as Bebop did. And even though the music isn't varied, the instrumental hip-hop soundtrack is still excellent.

Probably the most artistically engaging anime. It doesn't have the most cohesive plot, but the experience of each episode is a delight.
