Squid Game: The Challenge

Taking the world of Squid Game and turning it into a reality competition is an interesting idea, but the show struggles to make it compelling. The challenges are entertaining, yet the excessive focus on player drama makes the competition feel more manufactured than intense. Many contestants are difficult to care about, and the pacing drags between challenges. There are a few memorable moments, but the series never captures the tension or creativity that made the original Squid Game so effective.

Mostly consists of stupid and infantile games involving a high degree of chance, interspersed with inane commentary from the contestants that mostly ignores the fact that the games mostly involve a high degree of chance, all wrapped in a production designed to rather absurdly exaggerate the drama, where the latter mostly derives from the fact that the ultimate cash prize is quite large.
