Essentially, Tom Hardy is Jack the Ripper, stalking Victorian London in a top hat and coat, frequenting whorehouses and possibly eating degenerates (please, God, have Hardy play Jack the Ripper at some point). This understands Ritual - that strange notion of religious memory - exceptionally well, which I appreciate, and the production design screams quality. But it's a weird show: I've never seen a production so excited to use the n-word since my high school production of The Mikado.

Well, season one turned out to be rather good. Hardy, always fun to watch playing a colorful character doesn't disappoint here.

No story at all, boring thing. Such great cast... for what?

Quite good, maybe the ending was too hasty and all at once.

acting is great by jonathan pryce and tom hardy and much of the supporting cast. hardy does well in this format. i learned what a molly house is, blackamoor, and what a pain in the arse the east indian co. was. score is based on finishing season 1.

Peaky Blinders style, yeah! Great serie. Hardy nails it again. Cillian Murphy supporting role season 2? :-)

One of the finest TV dramas I have ever seen, from cast to sets to costumes to make up and effects this is an astonishing series. A must see. Complete series.

A rip roaring Count of Monte Christo mixed with a little Pirates of the Carribean and a load of historically authentic teeth.

Hardy is basically playing a super hero, but that's fine. The show does seem a little overeager to kill off characters though.
