The IT Crowd

Probably the only show that got me close to pissing my pants with laughter.

S1: 80 - S2: 90 - S3: 90 - S4: 80

Perhaps the most under rated comedy show that ever existed, this is great thanks to Chris O'Dowd and Richard Ayoade. The writing is perfect, the jokes full of great thought. Definitely not for everyone as some jokes are geared towards the geek crowd. It works for me as I enjoy both well timed satirical jokes with underlying character development gift wrapped inside them and the need culture on display within the series.

I unfairly avoided and derided it for years because of my loathing for Chris O'Dowd and the amount of annoying twats who seem to love it. Once I gave it a shot after stumbling upon a couple of episodes that I found pretty funny and it grew on me a lot. Chris Morris, Matt Berry and Richard Ayoade hold it all together and there aren't too many episodes. As such it remains compact, tight and doesn't outstay its welcome.

Matt Berry is hands down the funniest character in this.

Very funny, easy to watch and memorable. Absurd comedy that generally works because the characters and their reactions are more entertaining than the situations themselves. Its comedy is universal and doesn't rely on obscure pop-culture references that leave many viewers feeling left out.

The IT Crowd

Couldn't get past the first few episodes. Tries for absurdity but was mostly just really dull. Not even like, predictably dull, but more like non-sequitur, this-joke-does-not-connect-with-anything-it-tries-to-riff-on dull.

Despite a couple good moments (I'm being a little generous) here and there I couldn't stomach this for very long, it was painfully unfunny. It's pretty equal in general shittiness to The Big Bang Theory.

It bounces up and down in quality but at it's peak it's hilarious. FFFAAAAATTTTHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA
