It's no My Dinner With Andre. Despite the sheer amount of time everyone spends talking, it's never deep enough to satisfy. It's always two people bouncing their general thoughts, nothing revelatory, ending up where it started with nothing learned. A Comedian acts out therapy sessions on their podcast and I regret to be in the audience.

I would give this a perfect score if they re-released it with the stoner philosophy edited out.

1) Too much strobing. 2) Pseudintellectual mumbojumbo. Strives to have "meaningful", "insightful" discourse without ever venturing any controversial opinions, or really concrete opinions at all. Just meandering, philosophical navel-gazing with no end in sight, no resolution. There is a sense he never dares offend or disagree w/ guests. Good concept and the trippy visuals, but a far cry from similar concepts like Waking Life, Louis Theroux or EVEN Joe Rogan, which felt more meaningful at times.

An animated podcast about spirituality, summary for this should make that clearer. On the anim side, it's always creative, captivating on some episodes but I had no idea of what was going on some others. The problem is that the visuals have very little to do with the podcasts content, which are mostly about spirituality; not exactly my cup of tea. I tried to keep an open mind, but some ep go way too far on the pseudo-intellectual, new age esotericism bullshit, for which I just have no patience.

That was good. Little substance and too random, but an enjoyable ride nonetheless. The good eps are good, the bad eps are terrible, there's no inbetween.

Good lord. What is this thing? A beautiful, if not merely skin deep, analysis of modern spirituality, but, jesus, the plot lines of the animation are nearly unwatchable! Great last episode however.

I love the eye-candy and zany plots, but tbh the dialogue often teeters on the edge between annoying spiritual hoohaa and dumb stoner bullshittery. Definitely made much more tolerable when taken with some weed though.

[Season 1] I love the experimental storytelling format and think it has lots of potential, but I'm still undecided as to the actual content of the show. Every time White people start talking about Eastern religions, it immediately makes me skeptical, as it's so easy to analyze these concepts through a colonial Western lens that inaccurately captures all the nuances and complexities. Still, this show was thought-provoking and sometimes educational. Best episode is definitely the last one.

First episode is interesting with it's interplay of action and philosophical conversation. However, the show bends more toward a philosophical focus and away from that synergy, and the conversations themselves are kind of annoying/naive.

Interesting premise, but content wise it's not very good. It doesn't really go deep and instead stays within the realm of generalities, making it not worth the watch, except maybe the final episode of season 1.

Went in without any knowledge about it. Surprised by the format. It's interesting in concept, but barely watchable to me. I'm a sucker for story, characters, plot and empathy. Yes, it's beautiful and deep, but there's so much going on at the same time that I can't latch on to anything. I see a lot of praise for the show out there, but honestly I don't get it. Then again, i did enjoy Waking Life (2001) which is similar in many ways. Maybe its the subject matter that doesn't interest me (anymore)

Very trippy and intense. I recommend watching the whole thing sober first. I'll admit it's pace and duality is difficult to keep up with. I had to rewatch each episode like 5 times. This is a show I will definitely be coming back to. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend!

pretty niche, but I am in that niche. references a lot of Buddhist things. where else are you gonna hear about "noting" the technique in a TV series?

Adventure Time'ın yaratıcısı Pendleton Ward, Netflix için hazırladığı The Midnight Gospel ile geliştirildiğinde sona ermesi imkansız bir yetişkin animasyonunun kapısını aralamış. Evren simülatörüyle galaksi galaksi dolaşıp gezegen sakinleriyle röportaj yapan Clancy'nin maceralarını izlemek oldukça keyifli.

the form (fictional narrative as a vehicle for a real podcast) is cool because the actual content of the conversations and the fictional story can sub in for eachother as the "good part" depending on how you feel about the episodes content. i tuned in and out of these two parts a lot and it was pretty enjoyable overall. then the last episode hits, and it takes a turn for something really bitter sweet and touching that the chill stoner vibes didnt prepare you for. worth it for that alone.
