A perfect documentary to show the history of the national parks and commemorate the great men who fought for them all their lives. I have never been to US and I don't know if I ever will be but just knowing that these parks exist gives me the feeling of enjoyment. Big respect to John Muir, who said "one learns that the world, though made, is yet being made; that this is still the morning of creation". "كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فٖي شَأْنٍۚ" ayetinin sırrını iliklerine kadar hissetmiş olsa gerek.

If this was a one-off and 2 hours long it would be fantastic but at 12 hours long it's a snoozefest

As inspiring and majestic as its subject matter, Ken Burns really knocks it out of the park. This documentary will serve to turn entire generations into conservationists which deservingly puts Burns amongst the ranks of Muir, Mathers, and Roosevelt. He does a great job showing how the parks will forever be under attack by corporatists and how they truly are the last bastion of democracy left in America today. The day the National parks are sold will be the day the American dream dies.

While I understand this is not the most fascinating subject matter for most, this is actually a very well made and almost always interesting documentary.

The National Parks is as beautiful as it is informative, and the fact that almost the entire twelve hour running time is engaging is a feat unto itself.
