Tho well rated when made hasn't aged well. Synopsis doesn't clarify set in Imperial China where her sex prohibits taking test to become public official. Also avoids any mention she's PAID to become the King's concubine (and wean him off a tendancy to prefer men). This is a major problem/fault - it's built on sex but, of course with the production year and target audience sex can't be included even as inferred thing. Animation is basic also. Boring & unrealistic. There is a series 2. Many eps.
