Quite thoroughly enjoyed this miniseries. Triumphant adaptation of a brilliant, detail-rich novel. Outstanding costumes. It's funny, romantic, sad, and sexy. Get a hold of the original uncut version (not the shitty one for American viewers.)

Had to watch this after The Handmaiden. Suffice to say there's a reason Park is an acclaimed director and Sax's most famous credit is the Doctor Who movie. The story isn't bad, there's a fair amount of overacting, and it's directed like an early-80s music video with cheap video effects all over the place.
