This show turned my wife off feminism.

Honestly ashamed to have watched this misandric piece of shit to the end.

S4 as a whole: An interesting opening mystery, and solid lead performances can't save this poorly written meandering mess. It feels like two shows haphazardly shuffled together with long character beats suddenly undercut by the need to move the increasingly silly supernatural plotline along.

Ok you can pull holes in this, of course you can, but as a tense, interesting cop drama, it was right up there. Not least because of the interplay between Reis and Foster. I normally shy away from anything bordering on spiritbabble but this was expertly handled and downplayed. I was disappointed with the ending, as it all seemed a little too contrived .. I mean, if she hadnt lost two fingers we would still be in the dark! and why have some big mystery over Navarros whereabouts? but great stuff

Nothing more than activist porn that indulges in the noble savage stereotype so much as to be offensive to both left- and right-leaning audiences. Still its biggest sin is the deus ex machina approach to tying up loose ends--nothing makes sense, nothing is a reasonable explanation for the mystery. The showrunners seem to be making it up as they go along and the poor cast are left trying to contort their characters in a completely-unmoored, emotional pendulum.

Absolute banger! First season took itself so seriously. But this? Foster and Reis were amazing (and hot!!) and this season tells a full story with layers of meaning, while also being - hilariously - a critique of the first season and of the genre itself, in the way it plays with the conventions and gender roles usually assigned. So many compelling characters (at least 7) and a lot of moments I'll keep thinking about. Perhaps my critique would be: too many little flashbacks?
