Saw the first two episodes only. First episode could've ended about 2/3rds in and the 2nd episode didn't really go anywhere and while it kept my attention, I certainly wasn't riveted. (Next is not really a complaint, but an observation) It wasn't futuristic, it's like an alternate-reality or caricature of the present day, the 'futuristic' things are just apps, an Alexa equivalent and being filmed in Singapore. Apps, Alexa and Singapore already exist.

The tone is kinda like Portlandia-of-the-future. Like that show, it's incredibly uneven.

At least the title didn't lie. While Weird City isn't exactly good, it is significantly less preachy than The Twilight Zone reboot and does fulfil the same premise of holding a mirror to society. The cast in each episode is good, and rather delivering tepid horror, this show focuses on the whimsy and downright weird. Some of the ideas work (Ep. 1,2,4,5), some don't.

The first two episodes are worthwhile, the rest are not. It's not a comedy; I didn't laugh or smile once. What it is, is a really cheap sci-fi slice-of-life. I feel bad for the people who paid to watch the whole series on Youtube.
