Jimmy Savile built and maintained a network of manipulation around himself until his death, and this is possibly the most revealing keyhole we have into his real, dark personality. What has come in retrospect to be one of the most troubling and disconcerting documentaries ever made.

Savile came across as a very odd character in this. Unfortunately Theroux never really found out what made him that way, turns out he was very good at keeping secrets though.

Ugh, my God this was unpleasant to watch. It's closer to Julien Donkey Boy than what you would expect from a Louis Theroux documentary. What an unpleasant person he was.

Another great Louis Theroux documentary. Louis does manage to uncover some seedy slues towards Saville's later revealed secrets but it seems clear that Louis suspected him of hiding something in the first place as his documentaries often do uncover the unknown.
