Wonder Man

Wonder Man reaffirms my belief that Marvel still has some cool stories to tell. This is exactly the step outside the comfort zone project Marvel needs right now. Truly it is a love letter to the industry that brings all of our favorite stories to live. While being that it is also a look at the pressures of life and the lengths one will go to in order to protect a secret. A master class in acting from Kingsley and Abdul-Mateen II through out. I cared more for Simon and Trevor than a lot of others

Just when I thought I had zero interest in any new MCU project, "Wonder Man" shows up. It’s basically Marvel’s "Birdman" — meta, self-aware, part apology to the audience, part satire of modern Hollywood. And surprisingly, it’s more sincere than anything Marvel has done in the last 5–10 years. The performances are excellent. I only wish the ending landed with a harder punch — but even so, it’s easily the best MCU series overall.

The MCU somehow being at its best when stakes are low. It's not a groundbreaking show, but it's fun it's cute it's interesting it's engaging and the two main actors have perfect chemistry together. There's flaws, but my biggest issue with is that I want more of it :)

1x; Great acting, I really thought they did a fantastic job. Kingsley is so interesting to watch too - I was thinking to myself how he did in his first audition, and whether he left an impression right away. I found the story overall good too, but I thought it was a bit bland and that they held back, though maybe my expectations thinking at least more action.

Promising in many ways, but dwindled into a vapid, contrived husk by the end.

I really like the idea of telling stories like this in the MCU. It stands out from the rest, and helps showcase what everyday people are experiencing in this world. The leads are great, the plot/setting are exactly my kind of thing, and it’s overall a fun time.

I’ve read mixed reviews, even harsh ones, and I still come away thinking the opposite: I really liked it. More than I expected. Maybe because it doesn’t try to save the universe every ten minutes.
