Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

Better than the original because it follows the rules OF the game it references (I know some of the old show happened concurrently as the card game was being developed). This one's a bit zanier, I found most characters were pretty interesting.

The dub is hilarious and the show does so much absurd bullshit that makes it hard to take seriously. Yet when the show actually decides to hone in on character arcs the end result is surprisingly gratifying, with the final season possessing a lot of great character work despite how rushed it all was. The show is uneven with narrative and the first two seasons might as well be a gigantic shitpost, but by the end of the series I can't help but say I was pretty attached to the cast.
