Really liked parts of it, but there were also times where I felt like it dragged needlessly. It did make me want to watch another movie w/ Malkovich though

Lumpy crime saga has a distinct Coppola/Scorsese vibe as it explores a corrosive, ugly criminal underworld, but is hamstrung almost from the first instance by having the actors speak comically accented Russian English (not even Malkovich can escape the maw); its steely, icy blues make it an appealing world to be lost in, but characterisations tend to be too broad to take seriously (especially Tomlinson’s maniacal “Ophelia”). Not without interest, and has some visually striking moments of action.

By taking the idea of a manic pixie girl to its most natural extreme and having the actress play the part straight faced even as she tries to jump out of buildings and mashes a piano like candy pellets are going to be released by striking one of the keys, the film moves somewhat less than subtly from worshipping at the feet of Coppala to outright damning Cameron Crowe. And even still it didn't do much for me.

Tired, if timeless, themes made interesting.

İçinde mafya, polis, asker olan bir suç filmi. Bir dakika sonra sıradan bir aşk filmi. Sonra bir bakıyorsun büyüme hikayesi. Hemen sonra arkadaşlığa dair bir film oluvermiş. Karakterler ise doğal afetlerden hapishanelere kadar bir insanın tecrübe edebileceği her şeyi tecrübe ediyor.

Serbian Education is more thoughtful than expected and it doesn't suffer because of this. I'd recommend it.

Visually nice, interesting storyline. Bad idea to have Russian accents.
