His Private Secretary

This was a surprisingly fun and funny, lighthearted romantic comedy that had me laughing multiple times. I just wish it was longer because all the characters were so much fun.

Quite clunky, with a predictable storyline, old fashioned and inoffensive. Mainly of interest for the non cowboy john Wayne.

John Wayne in a small-time romantic comedy. This is a very standard affair and a rather bad poor man's production. Unusual to see Wayne in this kind of role and he looked out of place as a spoiled rich guy, and so far away from his saddle. But at least the Duke is in good company of the pretty Evalyn Knapp and with a short cameo by Al St. John. Plenty of embarrassing moments and a good example how bad Wayne can look without the right guidance of a good director to cover up for his short-comings.
