This cabin in the woods has dogs being passed for werewolves because of a shoestring budget, and then occasionally really good transformation scenes that suggest they put their money in the right place. And then they're dogs again. Weird movie with the spiritual opposite of Kathy Bates character from Misery and a love affair featuring the guy from The Pretender. Not as batty as The first sequel and not as nutty as the second sequel. So...not very memorable.

The fourth Howling movie isn't really a sequel, it's a remake, and it's not really a remake either, it's a second, more closely adherent adaptation of the source book. While that might sound like a good idea for most book based movies, this one also has the budget of a late 80's fourth installment and all of the poorly manufactured latex wolf masks that affords.

I'm saddened that they made like 7 of these movies. This was sooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. Did these movies honestly scare people back in the day?

Plays out like a much cheaper version of Dante's original, with horrible overdubbing. The material is not all the same, but beats are very familiar and it takes a while to get going. Elements almost verge on compelling, but it retreads old ground with less style, making it hard to invest. Once we hit the final act, we have the most gruesome (flesh-melting) transformation scene I have so far witnessed and it's milked nicely. Worth watching for the slew of last-minute practical carnage.

This is not nearly as terrible as I remembered. It is bad though, and very boring. Still, better than the novel it's based on. At least it's got a couple interesting transformation scenes.

Like the second film, the third, & probably all of the rest besides the original, this is complete & utter garbage. The acting is awful, the plot is awful, things barely make any sense, characters aren't interesting, and it feels like a movie that was made for literally no reason. Why is it called Original Nightmare, by the way? It's a nightmare to sit through, but that's about it. It's got a neat (if nonsensical) transformation scene. That's the only positive I have. Awful ending, too.

It is always a delight to find a so bad it's good movie.it really shows the need for movie magic when you see how a simple phrase or gesture can be done horribly so easily.
