It was for me the movie of 2015. A very believable story with very real characters and excellent acting. There is no attempt at glamourizing the film and the sole focus is laid on telling the excellent storyline that it is. I also like it how the seemingly different stories merge towards the end, reminding me of Crash and Babel :)

There are few set pieces in the film and the plot looks contrived. Indian films have given much better than this. However the concept is fresh and rest of the aspects of the movie are decent. Especially, the Devi story is good with other stories being on the weaker side. This movie received a 10 min standing ovation when screened at the uncertain regard at Cannes and won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Prix de l'avenir. I am not sure what was that all about.

Rare mature made Indian film. A drama which a pace probable more suited for a western audience (which might be explained by the French money put into the project). Starts off with sexual immorality, and kind of just rides on the opening scene for the rest of the film. Turns out there's very little story here, and the plot it did have drifts out into nowhere, which is a shame because this had the foundation to really make a strong impression with some better writing.
