Midnighters

Midnighters comes comes complete with more twists than a stick of twizzlers licorice that has been twisted in the opposite direction, essentially flattening out those twists. Now, take that piece of licorice and hit yourself on the head with it until you can't remember what it looked like before you bought it with those ill-gotten funds you stole from your abusive boyfriend. Now, think how much more licorice you can buy with the rest of those funds. This movie was not about licorice. I think.

They say Horror, not true, they say 63 Metascore... are you kidding? They call it Hitchcokian Thriller, do not make me laugh. "B&B" is way better than this one, and they call it Hithcockian too. So we have an almost boring movie. 49 predicted Criticker and that is exactly the note I am giving it.

Average thriller feels assembled from familiar elements of other movies, and while it flirts with being a horror film, it can never really build enough tension from its story, which has its share of annoying red herrings (the entire opening set-up is basically redundant). However it shows some technical skill in its crafting, and the small cast are uniformly effective, with a creepy Horton standing out. A decent if unremarkable genre piece.
