Miller's Girl

I don't suspect this being (at least partially) written by ChatGPT; i'm 100% convinced of it

I'm not sure what to make of this film; it's unclear to me what is reality and what is not, which can change the message dramatically. Moreover, all the adult characters kind of have the same views of life and thus seem very one-dimensional. Perhaps the best way to interpret this film is that this was the story that the main character decided to write... imperfections and all.

It's pretentious but leans into it. It does lose some steam after the turn. Ortega is amazing. Freeman is great. Bashier lends some comedic relief. Shot well, oozing gothic atmosphere. I was invested, I felt it. It's not the deepest script but it has good characterization. It's not incredible but it's being mistreated, I think, partially due to the subject matter.

"Miller's girl" would have been a great movie If they had gotten rid of the pesky and totally unnecessary character of "Miller's wife"!

A romantically intelligent story told with passion. Jenna Ortega is quite alluring and seductive in this. The story was overall good, and you can't help but be seduced by the young temptress.

Every character is paper thin; Jenna's is barely more than a caricature, and Martin's is a hollow shell. It's such an uninteresting character study, a non-intellectual pastiche of Wattpad-esque banality disguised as "provocative".
