Mojin: The Lost Legend

If you can stand "National Treasure" type adventure and don't mind reading subtitles, then you're not going to have a bad time here. In the past few years, big budget Chinese movies have moved closer to the production and quality of their American counterparts, enough so that it's a wonder why more of them aren't finding their ways to theaters in The States. Minor aspects may be lost on people who don't know much Chinese culture or history, but it's a fun movie. Bo Huang is one of my favorites.

Large scale, big budget and incredibly stupid. The CGI was pretty good for a Chinese production, the story was all over the place and didn't make a lot of sense but the actors kept it entertaining even if I was laughing at the movie instead of with it.

Welcome to the ridiculous world of Chinese adventure films! So extremely over-the-top trying to impress. Does deliver some big action, but also a lot of phony crap. Benefits from having Angelababy to keep at least some of the characterizations grounded. But as a former puroresu fan I kept getting distracted by that guy that looked like he was Riki Choshu's twin.
