It's militaristic, nationalistic, historically revisionist and aggressively Islamophobic. It's overly-long, the CG and dialogue both take noticable dips in quality at times and some of plot twists feel unearned. Yet despite all this, I didn't hate it; thanks to the gorgeous production design and great score, it was just such a fun escapist romp through a grand medieval war epic, that I could overlook many of those flaws.

A true epic with lots of flaws and some rather dark moments, but +10 for the bisexual Muslim Afghani narcissist warlord villain cranked to 11. Read up on the controversy behind this movie: it's absolutely batshit and a symbol of everything going wrong in an increasingly fascist India.

Too long. Poor motivations for characters. Poor portrayal of the court, politics, military strategy, and perhaps even diplomacy. Dialogues dip too often in quality. Seriously wasted potential with the character Mali Kufar and his relationship with Alauddin. Islamaphobic and quite orientalist (esp concerning Muslims). Great imagery as usual. Score was decent but not without flaws. Movie gets better as you watch it towards the end.

It dragged (specially at ending sequence) (like almost all indian movies) . But all visuals, usage of decors, lightning and colors are classic work of S.L. Bhansali. It was gorgeous. Although cgı animals and scenes were suck. But the biggest positive side of this movie is Ranveer Singh's acting. One of the most unique antagonist and very brave characterization. Its kinda fascist view to muslims but still a great character to watch. its not compelling as Mastani or Devdas but still good.
