The plot shortcuts actually bugged me here (Fields just leaves town after bricking the windshields? with no inquiry into his missing car with his million-dollar invention?) but the big comic scenes are hilarious, young Fields looks legit tasty in his tanktop, and there's some excellent card writing ("Alice Bisbee--convincing evidence that even poor people can have attractive children"; "My glass is harder to break than a blonde's heart"; "YO WHY THE FUCK YOU BRICK MY WINDSHIELD MOTHERFUCKER???")

W.C. Fields' silent version of You're Telling Me! (1934). First reaction is that I loved the talkie version a lot more. But don't let that take anything away from this one. This is still a highly funny comedy even if you don't get the full W.C. Fields experience with the mumbling noises and insults that he usually makes. One of the strength in this one is the lovely Alice Joyce as the princess. This also has the 'future Mr. Mary Pickford' Charles 'Buddy' Rogers as eye candy for the ladies.
