by the way, i'm not sure exactly how accurate this is, but my dad once told me that Stalker was meant to be an allegory to the former Soviet territories. the 3 characters are travelers into a zone which, like the communist ideal, is supposed to be some kind of utopia but ends up being something different. i don't know if that's what you guys meant by "getting it", just thought i'd throw it out there.

i've seen it once and loved it, gotta see it again sometime. have to admit i cheated and played it in 2x speed in the part where they're going through a tunnel with dripping water :P

KGB's post was 10 months ago and he's seen it. Nice bump.

Well, if it helps, I'm convinced. Still it requiers a very contemplative mood to be able to watch 'Stalker' entirely, so I will see it someday when I'm not very, ehm, active, I think. Or when I can't sleep.

I love everything from Kurosawa to Bergman, from Hitchcock to Kubrick, from Scorsese to the Coen brothers, from Truffaut to Bresson to Dassin, from Fellini to Leone,...

but one is sure: I don't like Tarkovsky (just read my reviews ;) )

I guess I'm not the one who's gonna convince you, lol

good luck though

peace

I watched Mirror last night. It didn't reach me.

I feel like I've failed all my own tests.

I had suspended expectation for the viewing, but I did think it was a contender for Spirit of The Beehive's top spot.
