No Tree of Life from Malick, which was rumoured to be featured in the Cannes Film Festival line-up, too bad.

It could be added to the lineup at a later date, although that's pretty doubtful.

Terrence Malick takes forever to release anything.
Unfortunate because he is extremely talented.

Re: Cannes 2010
i'd probably pay much more attention to ANY film festivals if they were within a reachable distance--but they're not. so looks like i'll keep on ignoring those movies, considering i'm going to have to wait like everybody else. it's a bummer since i'm as big a movie buff as i am.

Re: Cannes 2010
One of my relatives owns a condo a five minute drive away from the Palais des Festivals (which is a shockingly ugly building) but I'll never get to stay there during the festival itself, because he makes about five or six times much money renting it out then as he usually does.
Also it seems like Cannes has lost a bit of its former stature, Berlin and Venice appear to be getting as much media/critical attention in recent years.
