I'm gonna have to stick with my guns and say Lincoln cleans up the most this weekend.

I know Argo & 0Dark30 have been getting a lot of love, but i think that Lincoln is all around the best flick of the year.
While it may not be his best performance, DDL does a great (up-to-par) DDL job.
The rest of the cast (especially Tommy Lee) does an incredible job and Spielburg manages to capture it all on screen very well.

Argo is definitely the underdog, Hollywood's had a hard-on for Afflect since Good Will Hunting followed by Gigli,,, that transition is still a mystery to me today.

Shogu can tell you my feeling on 0Dark30; which would be the underdog if it wasn't for Argo. Chastain deserves best female performance, but the movie is clearly a lesser Argo (underdog).

I pointed to the fences with Spielberg's War Horse last year (which lost), but I'm hoping Lincoln goes over the bleachers this year... it deserves best picture.

I'm disappointed that The Queen of Versailles isn't up for best Documentary (which it is), and that The Sessions and The Master aren't getting more recognition, because they were both beautifully directed and produced and deserve more.

I think Clooney and Co. are just ramming Argo through in a demonstration of clout over substance. I mean the movie is good except for the end, and everybody knows it. It's apparently worked in the other awards, so it looks like it has the momentum. I'd be happy with either ZDT or Life of Pi, but there's no way for ZDT, so I think its between Pi and Lincoln. So Silver Lining Playbook will probably take it.

I think the real war is going on around the best actress category, whether to give it to Jessica Chastain (as she deserves), or not. They'll probably vote against ZDT as best movie just to keep Kathryn Bigelow off the stage as a producer, not to mention ditto for Mark Boal.

(I'm sacrificing my cred here so people will vote for it just to prove me wrong. )

They'll probably vote against Pi to balance the scales for giving Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon best pic in 2001. I mean who knows how these clowns think--unless they actually get one right.

Silver Lining Playbook sucked, no one's voting for that one.

Life of Pi was worthy of a nominations but definitely not worthy of winning.
Ang Lee is a wonderful director and has proven his abilities in not only Crouching Tiger, but also Brokeback Mountain.
Life of Pi is a good film, entertaining, but doesn't measure up to either of it's better predecessors.
Lee needs to prove he can do better if he wants to earn more awards.

0Dark30 and Argo will hopefully cancel each other out (though their recent momentum makes them a wild card).

With Argo winning pretty much every other award in existence (Golden Globe, SAG, Writers Guild, Directors Guild, BAFTA, Critics Choice), it's hard for me to imagine it possibly losing Best Picture. Lincoln is the only other movie I see winning, but I don't think I've seen any other show give it anything but Actor. They'll probably give Spielberg Director to make up for the Best Picture loss.

DDL and Hathaway are pretty much locks. It's Chastain vs. Lawrence in Actress, and I figure Lawrence takes it since award shows don't seem to really like Zero Dark that much. I'm pulling for Waltz in Supporting Actor, but I figure Tommy Lee Jones will take it.

I'll be very unhappy if Skyfall doesn't win Cinematography, but I'm still expecting Life of Pi to take that and pretty much all the other technical categories. As far as disappointments, I was sad to see Moonrise Kingdom get pretty much ignored and a lack of acting nominations for End of Watch. I was hoping that at least Michael Pena would get some love for that movie. Also, the fact that Flight of all things got a Best Original Screenplay nomination over movies like Looper and Seven Psychopaths is a travesty.

OMG, and I actually looked it up on IMDb and called myself checking. I musta looked at it cockeyed.

But hey, looking at the article aney put up, Pi will probably not get votes for the reason I stated anyway--there are several examples of the same f/u "reasoning" in the article. And hey, it won best foreign film. So I was right even though I was wrong. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Ya, couldn't believe that.
Not only did TLJ deserve that Oscar, his performance was the best of the year across all acting categories.

Waltz did a great job, but he did the exact same great job in IB and got an Oscar for that 3 years ago.
Talk about typecast.

Pacino didn't even win a single of his two nominations for God Father & God Father II
