Worth the watch. Predictable but tells a great story about the American police force and how you're allowed to do terrible at your job and stay in power.

The Outwaters (2022) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

Just no. I looked up the point of this film after watching only to find the majority answer "it's whatever you make of it". That's not going to work for me. Many scenes are just difficult to watch and make absolutely no sense with or without context. It's a tough sell.

Unbelievable (2019) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

Really wonderful show. While keeping you on the edge of your seat, this show also forces the viewer to reflect on what it must be like to be assaulted in this manner and go through what she goes through. And that's a terrifying path and makes you root for good even more.

Scandal (2012) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

Really goes down hill after the first couple seasons but Kerry Washington shines and I find myself unable to stop watching. Everything she does is right and everyone against her is wrong. I believe it and love it.

Molly's Game (2017) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

I quite liked this film. Do I care she broke the law and could have avoided her entire issue? No. Not at all. She's a super charismatic character and I want to learn all about her antics. Love Aaron Sorkin too.

Interstellar (2014) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

It's a fantastic cinematic experience. And Nolan brings his best to the table. He also brings a touch of predictable which makes this feel less real. The score, cinematography, and CGI though are the real stars of the show. It's an EXPERIENCE and should be seen on a big screen.

Arrival (2016) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

This is a masterpiece of a film. It'll make you laugh and cry and hope only that this universe is ours. With a somewhat predictable (but no less impactful) twist, Arrival places knowledge and understanding at the forefront of science. It says we need those more than anything if we want to survive. Amy Adams' performance as an expert linguist is enticing and Renner backs her up when necessary.

Chernobyl (2019) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

Chefs kiss. This series is engaging, exciting, terrifying, and really makes you rethink everything you know about this disaster. The magnitude of the thing weighs on you and forces you to come back to this show again and again. I'm only giving it a 99 because it's in English and no Russian or Ukrainian. Should have had subtitles but I get it.

As Above, So Below (2014) - Rated 12 Mar 2024

This is a found footage film but you kind of forget about it as the film goes on. It feels the only way to actually film this in such a claustrophobic setting. Not really scary but definitely spooky. Very unique and original which is exciting in a horror film of this kind. Worth the time.
