80 62% Swiss Army Man (2016) - Rated 19 May 2020
"How did this stay funny for the whole length of the feature? This shouldn't have been as good as it was."
95 89% Knives Out (2019) - Rated 12 May 2020
"A perfect whodunnit. While traditional whodunnits rely on the audience knowing as much as the lead detective, they somehow pulled off showing (what you think is) the big reveal to the audience in the first half of the story... only to find out that there's more to it than that. It's beautifully shot. The acting is fantastic. There's so much substance to this film; the second watch had me finding all these easter eggs that I missed the first time around."
50 15% Guns Akimbo (2019) - Rated 12 May 2020
"You know how there's that urban legend about how Bill Murray accepted his role in Garfield because he mistook the screenplay writer's name (Joel Cohen) for Joel Cohen of the Cohen brothers? Is that what happened here? Daniel Radcliffe accidentally finds himself in an overwhelmingly mediocre flick? Best watched at 1.5x speed, or by skipping most scenes entirely."
80 62% The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) - Rated 24 Feb 2019
"Not as good as later Wes Anderson stuff, but it was still very stylized and very good."
50 15% Alita: Battle Angel (2019) - Rated 24 Feb 2019
"I get that I'm not exactly the target market for this movie, but holy crap... they did 20 things poorly instead of doing 2 or 3 things well."
75 50% Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) - Rated 20 Oct 2018
"The beginning was solid and the ending made me feel all warm and fuzzy."
40 9% A Simple Favor (2018) - Rated 09 Oct 2018
"A few good actors doesn't save the fact that this should've been an hour-long Lifetime movie. EDIT: The more I think about this movie, the less I like it."
40 9% Life of the Party (2018) - Rated 09 Oct 2018
"How is this a comedy? There were hardly any jokes."
65 28% Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) - Rated 20 Aug 2018
"It's like watching Scorch Trials again. The plot changes from the book left me scratching my head, because the motivations behind breaking into the bad guys' base did not seem worth it. However: despite the repetition and cliches, it's an acceptable conclusion to the trilogy... and how many acceptable trilogies do we have? 2? 3?"
70 39% Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) - Rated 20 Aug 2018
"Although repetitive at times, I truly respect how the story very passably goes from Hunger Games to 28 Days Later."
