starts of stylistically strong albeit somewhat unclear in its intensions. towards the second half it drops any ambitions and goes back to being generic action hero movie with a ton of loop holes. I'm not buying pattinsons emo batman or serkis Alfred either.

well-made but ultimately somewhat unengaging. the atmosphere and acting is there but there just isnt really any plot to latch on to. the dialogue never really goes beyond what is setup in the first few minutes either.

Ive got to say I completed missed this when it came, seeing it as completely uneecessary. upon finally watching it, however, I must say it is better than the original trilogy. the somewhat (but not overly) darker and more mature mood really works in its favour. the ending is as weak as any superhero movie, but thats a given.

while it is a fantastic insight it is also hopelessly overlong. why would we need nearly 9 hours of this?
