A little boring

Clockwatchers (1997) - Rated 21 Sep 2021
Starts as a fun buddy office comedy, ends as a morose commentary on crappy jobs and circumstantial friendships

The Green Knight (2021) - Rated 13 Sep 2021
Excellent and original visuals and storytelling. Happy accident: the colors with flux or night shift on are out of this world.

Pig (2021) - Rated 04 Aug 2021
Pignapping noir / family drama / restaurant scene satire. Weird and works pretty well.

White Material (2009) - Rated 27 Jul 2021
I always appreciate the political and artistic energy of Denis's work, but she's gotten more heavy-handed with time. Not for the better, in my opinion. Beau Travail and No Fear, No Die have a rare grace that is present but harder to find in White Material and maybe entirely absent in High Life.

Zola (2021) - Rated 22 Jul 2021
Fairly well-made and stylish. But I don't think the story was translated very well to the screen; the narrative felt choppy and uneven.

Good: outer space, music, editing. Bad: Cold War, nationalism
