G. Spelvin

This is pretty bad. Enough blood to float a whale and enough swearing to shame a sailor. If you like bad movies then give it a try. Otherwise, don't bother.

Drag Me to Hell (2009) - Rated 14 Jul 2014

Outlandish CGI and special effects, while normally a damper on most horror flicks, give this film a unique feel that works. Although it may be unworthy of an Academy Award, Drag Me To Hell is worth the watch. Plenty of jump scares, tense, and interesting. It's probably not what you're expecting it to be, unless you're a fan of Sam Raimi.

A decent horror film with some new and innovative twists, but I was in no way captivated.

Not a total disappointment, but nothing to write home about.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) - Rated 12 Jul 2014

Matt Reeves held the audience's collective hand too much, IMHO. There was a lot of story packed into the movie, but the character development was less than satisfactory. Perhaps its that I have never been a huge POTA fan, but I found myself excited about the fact that I wasn't totally disappointed rather than being excited about the movie being good.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) - Rated 12 Jul 2014

Being a sequel, I had little hope for HTTYD2. I was pleasantly surprised, however, and left the theater more satisfied than I have been in a long time. Every bit as good as it's predecessor.
