Frankenstein (1931) - Rated 04 Nov 2013
Yes, all these old horror films are quite cheesy, and this is no exception. But it's still a very good film that has to been seen at some point.

Captain Phillips (2013) - Rated 04 Nov 2013
Better than expected. Hanks gives his best performance in some time, and he shows once again that he has the charisma to carry an entire movie on his shoulders. So what if some things were changed around? It's a film made for entertainment. And this is damn entertaining. Rarely a moment where you're not on the edge of your seat. And the ending is a perfect emotional moment.

The Last Samurai (2003) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
An overlong film that works mainly on Tom Cruise's very good performance. It's a very typical story, but it's quite well done.

Hanna (2011) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
A superb action film that follows a girl who's great at kicking ass. Eric Bana is her trainer and Cate Blanchett is the woman who's after Hanna. The story is very simple, but also very compelling. What really works in this film are action sequences, perfectly directed by Joe Wright.

The Wrestler (2008) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
The realistic story of this professional wrestler is powerful in every way. Rourke gives his best role and makes you really feel for this character.

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
Putting the story in the past doesn't help. The main actor can't pull off the role, and even Hugo Weaving can't exactly get his footing on this sloppy script.

Ghostbusters II (1989) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
I'll never quite understand how Ghostbusters was such a big deal, and how they could get this actors to do something this ludicrous. The first wasn't that funny, and this one isn't funny at all. Messy plot, pointless situations.

Almost Famous (2000) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
A personal favorite of mine (I mainly write about music), one of the most powerful films I've ever seen. Even if it's not perfect (less time on the road would have helped).

Spider-Man (2002) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
Rami does a very good job here and this film is one of the most underrated superhero films out there. The origin story is done perfectly and the casting of everyone is spot on. Although the action sequences could have used some more work.

Alien (1979) - Rated 07 Jul 2013
The gross stuff really makes this film worth while, but it also shows how powerful this film still is.
