Pretentious, stupid nonsense. So boring. One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a cinema, I really just wanted to escape this garbage. But one has principles...

Der Fan (1982) - Rated 10 Jun 2017

What a nightmare. This is how German horror ought to work... Full of symbolism as well. Schmidt's images (especially the framing and use of colours) are stunning too.

Everything about this is wrong. Boring, ugly, stupid.

My favourite horror film of all times. (Why is there a Chinese poster on this page...?)

Shiki-Jitsu (2000) - Rated 10 Jun 2017

A slightly surrealist post-modern tale of melancholy and loneliness. The images are stunning and the actors great. There could have been some more "action", I think, since it's pretty repetitive (and it wants to be exactly that), but all in all I really love it.

Shin Godzilla (2016) - Rated 10 Jun 2017

The first Godzilla film in 12 years, and that's about the time I've waited for this one. I was happy to see it in Japan when it came out, and a childhood dream came true. It's the most terrifying, adult Godzilla until now, I couldn't have wished for more than that.

Pastoral: To Die in the Country (1974) - Rated 10 Jun 2017

Perfection. Some of the most beautiful images I've ever seen. Highly philosophical plot as well, pure 1970s.

Woman of Fire (1970) - Rated 10 Jun 2017

A remake of 1960's "Housemaid", even better, more shocking and in lurid colour.

Pure madness. Just pure, entertaining madness and surrealism. One of my all-time favourites.

The Housemaid (1960) - Rated 10 Jun 2017

What a perfect piece of art. A surrealist thriller about a lascivious housemaid who invades a "stable" family in post-war South Korea... The ending is quite incredible.
