"Ari Aster professes a reverence for the works of Bergman and Von Trier. He misunderstood them both., as he takes Von Trier's obession with violence far too literally (whereas Von Trier puts physical violence and gore on screen as a metaphore for our psychological travails and horrors) for instance and completely misses the mark on any sociological or religious points."
